The St Gabriel’s Food Bank offers help to people living in Kings Hill (or are associated through school/work/activities), West Malling and Leybourne/Leybourne Chase area.*
We are a crises provision for anyone whose income has been drastically reduced, or who are struggling to pay for food at this time due to the cost of living crisis. We are not a shopping service and can only distribute what we have in stock at any time.
We are able to offer an initial 6 weeks worth of help (mainly taken weekly or bi weekly). This is due to current rising demands.
Food parcels consist of the same or similar dry/canned food each week, and some other necessities for the number of people in your family. When we receive fresh fruit/veg/bread we also distribute that.
To Request – fill-in the form below
To donate – scroll to bottom of this page
Once we have your form, someone will contact you to find out a little bit more, and then we can offer a one off or regular food parcel.
Most parcels are picked up from the Vicarage, but if that is not possible we can try to arrange it to be dropped to you, but this may delay the parcel.
*If you don’t live in this catchment, please do not fill in the below form. Please seek out your local food bank or emergency food provision to your area. Food support provision is available in Borough Green, Paddock Wood, Larkfield, Aylesford, Tonbridge or East Malling.
Helping those in need is a key part of the life of St Gabriel’s and our duty as a Christian Church and we regularly run food collections to distribute to people in the community or other parts of Kent. Over the Coronavirus pandemic we formalised this by setting up a food bank to help those in the community struggling due to the pandemic in whatever way. Throughout the pandemic, thanks to the generosity of the local community we have helped various key workers, families, individuals, those self-isolating and re-distributed food to the NHS and other Food banks in the area. This has continued and now regularly distribute food parcels weekly and Christmas boxes.
