St Gabriel’s are providing food parcels for individuals and families on or associated to Kings Hill whose income has been drastically reduced because of the coronavirus crises, or are struggling at this time due to a reduction in free school meals or benefits etc. Anyone struggling to pay for food shopping can self refer by filling in the form below.
Once we have your form, someone will contact you to find out a little bit more, and then we can offer a one off or regular food parcel, normally distributed at the end of the week before the weekend. There are some occasions when we ask you to pick from the vicarage if you are able. Most food parcels consist of dry/canned food, but we aim to offer full meals for the total number of people in your family. When we receive fresh fruit/veg/bread we also distribute that.
Helping those in need is a key part of the life of St Gabriel’s and our duty as a Christian Church and we regularly run food collections to distribute to people in the community or other parts of Kent. Over the Coronavirus pandemic we have formalised this by setting up a food bank to help those in the community struggling due to the pandemic in whatever way. Throughout the pandemic, thanks to the generosity of the local community we have helped various key workers, families, individuals, those self-isolating and re-distributed food to the NHS and other Food banks in the area.
