Thank You – A Year On

A year ago, as lock down begun, a quick facebook post and a dining room table, led to the creation of the St Gabriel’s Food Bank. What started out as a temporary idea over the first lockdown out of the Vicarage Dining room, soon turned into something more and much bigger.

How it began

Over the year with support of the public and some companies (see below), we have provided nearly 5,500 meals, 60+ Christmas Hampers, and about to offer 45+ Easter Boxes. We have met people in their most difficult time of need, supported through lock down and beyond, heard stories of heartache and pain turn into ones of joy, helped people in one off emergencies, regularly for periods of time, and offered ongoing support.

Had people of all ages volunteer and support, appointed a great volunteer coordinator (Claire) and much, much more.

So a big thank you to everyone who has given help and offered help, we couldn’t have done it with out you!

If you need help or wish to help you can find out more here

How it is now!
