Sky Lanterns rise in our All-Age worship

A photo of the Sky Lantern rising at St Gabriel's morning serviceSt Gabriel’s took their morning service out into the car park on Sunday in order to launch a sky lantern into the Kings Hill sky.

With the children involved throughout as part of our monthly all-age service, Rev David led a service all about the Church and us as individuals as ‘Temples of the Holy Spirit’.

He talked with the children about the ‘warm breath’ of God’s presence in our lives and the things that can get in the way. Then we all went outside to launch a Sky Lantern, powered by warm air, and pray that God would do the same for us as a church.

When church finished a short while later, a few of the children were rushing outside to see if they could still see the Sky Lantern in the sky but it had gone. As one put it, “it’s probably in heaven by now”.
