Pancakes, Palm Leaves, Masks and Crosses

All ages enjoyed pancakes, crafts and worship at the St Gabriel’s Pancake Party. The Sunday afternoon service which took place on the 5th March, attracted over 50 people of all ages, who came to explore the theme of lent, through crafts, games, songs and the eating of pancakes.

Following on from the successful Scratch Nativity and Crafts on Christmas eve, this is the first of a series of Sunday afternoon and non-Sunday services based around exploring themes of faith through craft, activity and some sort of food.

Cross making, palm leaf weaving, Mardi Gras mask making took place alongside pancake flipping and racing. The afternoon ended with a short act of worship with songs and party popper prayers. The activities were enjoyed by all who attended.

The next service will take place at 10am on Good Friday (April 14) at the Discovery School.
